The Power of Forgiveness

Did you know that forgiveness is one of the best ways to break the cycle of blame – and pain and hurting? It does not always resolve or answer all questions of blame, betrayal and trust, but it can allow relationships to start over. It's not our capacity to think that makes us different, but our capacity to repent, and to forgive. 

When you hold resentment toward each other, you are bound to that person by an emotional link that keeps you trapped.  Forgiveness is the best way to dissolve that link and set ourselves free. We can learn to forgive both ourselves and others, especially those whom have hurt us in the past. Learning to forgive is a powerful choice that each of us can implement into our lives. We need to forgive in order to better heal ourselves. If we cannot forgive, it becomes very difficult to move forward. We will continue to carry old wounds that burden us, but when we forgive, we can better let go of all these wounds and burdens, and instantly feel lighter and stronger to move forward.



  1. Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future. 
  2. To forgive is one of the highest, most beautiful forms of love. In return, it can give you further peace and happiness.
  3. To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.
