Take a moment to truly listen

This week try to practice active listening. When someone is talking, truly process what they are saying and the message they are trying to get across. Also, don’t be afraid to paraphrase mid-conversation by saying things like, “So in other words….” By rewording and repeating what they are saying, communication becomes easier and both people will have a better understanding of the thoughts being shared.

In the Yard
Plant a tree! Make a day out of it, invite friends and family. Planting is an act of putting down roots and contributing to the future. Actively work to save the environment and watch for years as the tree grows. Planting a tree helps filter pollution from the air, prevents soil loss, helps recycle water, provides homes for animals and provides an interesting, soothing environment for children.
 
Tip #21
Practice feeling beautiful. When you catch yourself looking good, take a minute and hold it. Stay in that place for a moment - feel it, and hold it. We often will reinforce to ourselves when we don’t think we look so good and rarely reinforce when we do. FEEL it, and hold it. Maybe add a little verbal spice - say to yourself: “I look gorgeous!” So savour those moments, and you will have more of them.
